It came about because a gentleman in New England wanted to sell my reproduction of the original one through his mail order business. Instead of us both selling the same piece, I designed the Queen Anne style version for him. He is no longer selling the piece so I offer it now through Fireside Reproductions.

        The Utility Boxes are very similar with the only differences being, of course, the Queen Anne "Horns", the flat lid and no hand beading around the drawer fronts. Of the two boxes, the Queen Anne Box is by far the more popular. The Queen Anne "Horns" are an appealing design from the Queen Anne period in American History (1720 - 1750 +/-).
