![]() This cupboard is pictured in Wallace Nutting's Furniture Treasury, plate #504, Vol. #3. The cupboard can have one or two shelves plus the quarter shelf on the extension below. The slab door is double cleated on the inside to provide great stability. An interesting early 18th Century cupboard with its own country charm. 37" H x 12" D x 13 1/2" corner. This is a popular little hanging corner cupboard. I believe its popularity is due in part to its size. It can fit into corners where perhaps other cupboards of the same style would not easily fit due to their size. As with any of my pieces, the cupboard would add charm to any room in your Home. Depending on the number of shelves you would want, the cupboard could, for example, hold and feature some of your collectables, or maybe two or three pieces of wonderful blue and white china, or pieces of Flow Blue; a plant with its vine hanging over a shelf edge - you can let your imagination run away a little. Another nice decorating feature of your hanging corner cupboard is being able to change the displayed items with the seasons or with the various holidays. One last comment on this "early old" cupboard is that it would make a very nice house warming gift; the cupboard would be seen and appreciated each and every day. ![]() This shows the aged interior and one of a number of ways the shelves may be arranged. Also shown are the cleats that stabilize the slab door; a slab door is actually just a flat board without a frame as most doors have; stiles and rails. The cleats keep the slab door flat. |
