I copied this Cupboard for a client in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. She found her original Cupboard years ago in New England, and she decided that she wanted another one custom built to the exact measurements of the original. We copied the Cupboard right down to the candle burns under the shelves and the mouse gnawing. This is the second most popular piece I make. Hooded Pewter Cupboards are the most desirable and, of course, the hardest to find out of all of the different styles of Pewter Cupboards. The shelves have plate grooves and are hand plane beaded. The spoon notches that you see in the picture are included with the Cupboard; they were an original feature found on her Cupboard. Also shown is the crest cove molding and its hand planed beading. The uppermost shelf shows the individual spoon notches and its beading. The Redware displayed is part of the owner's collection. It helps, I think, to highlight both the pewter cupboard and the Redware collection as well.
